Pavilion of Dream: A digital-interaction display of Taiwan’s cutting-edge technology among the fourteen exhibitions of the flora expo.
The 2010 Taipei International Floral Exposition was organized by the Taipei City Government in partnership with the Taiwan Floriculture Development Association (TFDA). The city was chosen to host the event in April 2006. The flora expo showcased Taipei’s achievements in tourism, catering, gardening, and biotechnology.
Pavilion of Dreams is the only exhibition with a digital-interaction display of Taiwan’s cutting-edge technology among the fourteen exhibitions of the flora expo, which combined ITRI’s technology and the creativity of Taiwanese artists to give technology a new application opportunity.
I was very honored to take two parts of the pavilion of dream. The first one is The Journey of Coexistence, a paragenesis journey through the entire museum; in the exhibition, audience were led to a variety of coexistence, strategic paragenesis and mutual communion of species through the journey of wisdom. During the journey, the dream audience selected when they entered the exhibition site will turn into a unique flower of dcream planted in RFID wisdom bracelet, which will follow audience all the way forward, at the end of the journey, audience called out the dream flower from the RFID wisdom bracelet and plant the flower in a city garden to make the world full of beautiful flowers.
Another part I was involved is Gallery 4 LVOE & DREAM, where audience can watch the fantastic appearance of their flowers with an interaction bracelet at the paragenesis stage, at mean while, the parts and petal colors of the flowers growing on the stage can be exchanged with one another flowers, so that the flowers of dream are more colorful and fantastic. The unique virtual blossoms constructed by program parameters bloom right in front of audience’s eyes, and converge all the way into the city garden to be shared with everyone.
